Privacy Policy
Lantern is a place for people who care for children and adults with special needs. What you share here is often personal, so this page says plainly what we keep, why, and how to get rid of it.
Who we are
Lantern is made by David Godinez LLC. Questions about this policy or your data go to hello@yerisoh.com.
How you sign in
With a six-digit code we email you, or with Sign in with Apple on iPhone. Lantern has no passwords for members.
What we keep
- Your email address, to sign you in.
- Your profile: your name (Lantern uses real names), handle, who you care for in a few words you choose (for example "Adult son, 22"), bio and photo.
- What you post: posts, replies, photos, recipes, resources, events, listings, and the circles you join.
- Your messages with other members.
- Your activity: likes, saved posts, event RSVPs, and the reports and blocks you make.
- A notification token for your device, if you turn notifications on.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, payment details or advertising identifiers, and we do not ask for anyone's diagnosis. There are no ads and no tracking.
What other members see
Your posts, replies, profile and circle memberships are public inside Lantern and carry your real name. Messages are seen only by the people in that conversation. Before a photo is posted you can cover any face in it; covered spots are destroyed on our server before the photo is shown, and the uncovered original is not kept.
Please think about the person you care for before you post about them. Share what you would be comfortable with them reading one day.
Where your data lives
Lantern's database and photos are hosted by Supabase on Amazon Web Services in the United States. Sign-in emails are sent by Resend. Notifications are delivered through Expo's push service and Apple or Google. These pages are served by Cloudflare.
Who we share it with
Nobody else. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers or data brokers. The providers above handle it only to run Lantern. We will disclose information only if the law requires it, or to protect a child or someone at risk of harm.
Reports and blocks
You can report any post or member and block anyone. A person reads every report.
Deleting your account
In the app: You tab → Delete my account. Your account and everything tied to it are erased right away. More on deletion, including how to ask by email.
Age
Lantern is for adults, 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and its date, and tell members in the app.
