Child Safety Standards
Lantern's members care for children and adults who are more vulnerable than most. These are our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). They apply to every part of Lantern: posts, replies, photos, messages, profiles, events and listings.
Our standard
Lantern has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. We prohibit, without exception:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form: real, altered or generated
- Grooming, sexualization of minors, or sexual communication with or about a minor
- Content that promotes, facilitates or normalizes the exploitation of children or of vulnerable adults
- Using Lantern to arrange contact with, or harm to, a child
Breaking this standard means immediate removal of the content, permanent removal of the account, and a report to the authorities.
Built-in protection
Lantern is for adults only. Before any photo is posted, members can cover a child's face, and the covered original is destroyed on our server, not kept.
How to report
- In the app: every post and profile has Report or block. A person reads every report.
- By email: hello@yerisoh.com with the subject "Child safety report". You do not need an account.
Child safety reports are handled first, ahead of everything else.
What we do
- Remove the content and the responsible account immediately
- Preserve evidence securely so law enforcement can act
- Report apparent CSAM to the NCMEC CyberTipline and to the relevant authorities
- Cooperate with law-enforcement requests made through lawful process
Compliance
Lantern complies with child safety laws where it operates, including reporting obligations, and we review these standards regularly.
